I’m working as a Lecturer at Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (www.ukm.my) and currently on study leave for my PhD at Texas Tech University (Fall 08).

I also have worked with Department of Wildlife and National Parks, Peninsular Malaysia as a Research Officer in about two and a half years (August 05 – September 07) and conducted research on various aspects of Malaysia’s wildlife..

I have a Master of Science in Zoology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2004) and my dissertation was entitled ‘Spatial Variation in Diversity Parameters of Insectivorous Bat Assemblages at Krau, Malaysia’, and this study is collaboration with the Boston University and Department of Wildlife and National Parks.

My research interests range across the field of conservation, ecology, evolution and biodiversity of vertebrate taxa, particularly bats. I am mainly interested in how ecological selection can differentially affect the evolution of animal groups and how different species able to coexist.
